A double (bi-parting) swing gate splits the opening into two leaves that meet in the middle. Ram versus articulated-arm motors

Slope is the deciding factor
The most common reason a swing gate won't work is that the driveway rises or falls through the swing. A gate hung to clear the ground when closed can dig into a rising driveway as it opens. The fixes are to hang the gate higher (a larger ground gap), to open the gate the other way where the site allows, or to switch to a sliding gate. Safety, backup and the pillars
